Your church is what you make it!

If it is a "growing church" it is because

you come regularly with your family

to learn from God’s Word.

If it is a "Scriptural church" it is because

you will settle for nothing less.

If it is a "friendly church", it is because

you are friendly and make it so.

If it is a "giving church", it is because you give with a heart of love.

If it is a "praying church", it is because you regularly and consistently pray for your church and its ministries.

If it is a "spiritual church", it is because you daily walk in the Spirit and abide in Christ.

If it is a "Bible-believing church", it is because you "study to shew yourself approved unto God….rightly dividing the word of truth."

Please remember that your church will be exactly what you make it!

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF OUR CHURCH MEMBERS

I. SALVATION

1. We don’t want just church members on our rolls, but according to the Bible, church members should have received the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior by being born again (John 3:3-6,1:12).

2. We expect our members to know that they are saved, and how they are saved (1 John 5:11-13).

3. We expect our members to witness for the Lord Jesus Christ by sharing their faith with family members, friends and/or anyone they have an opportunity to tell how to be saved by God (Acts 1:8).

II. WORSHIP

1. We expect our members to set aside and sanctify Sunday as the Lord’s day for worshipping God with the saints (Heb. 10:24-25).

2. We are to worship God together in our Sunday services.

3. When we go out to worship with other churches, we would like for all of our members to attend (Eph 4:15-16).

4. We are to participate in our monthly Holy Communion (currently every 2nd Sunday of each month).

^{III. PRAYER}

^{1. We are to spend personal time with God in prayer daily.}

^{2. We are to pray with our family.}

^{3. We are to pray with our church family.}

^{IV. BIBLE STUDY}

^{1. Without the Bible, there is no knowledge of Christ or salvation. We expect our members to grow in their love for God’s Holy Scriptures, The Bible.}

^{2. We expect all of our members to read, study, meditate and memorize Scriptures (2 Tim. 2:15).}

^{3. All members are to attend Sunday School/Biblical Foundations.}

^{V. GIVING}

^{1. We expect our members, by faith and love, to give to God tithes and offerings.}

^{2. We should be faithful supporting our pastor financially, with our prayers, and by giving encouragement.}

^{3. We are to unite with our church in support of missionaries: financially, and with our prayers.}

^{4. We are to give our time and abilities to the church.}

^{VI. RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER MEMBERS}

^{1. We are to try to get to know members we do not know.}

^{2. We are to be united for the cause of our Lord Jesus Christ.}

^{3. We are to love and build up other members.}

^{4. We are to share with others when they are less fortunate than we are.}

^{5. We are never to gossip and talk behind one another’s back. Such practices are demonic.}

^{VII. SERVICE}

^{1. God has called all of us into His service as soldiers of Jesus Christ. God has given all of us natural and spiritual gifts to serve Him and His church.}

^{2. We expect all our members to have a ministry, and be involved in a church ministry.}

^{3. We expect our members to serve in a ministry in the church.}

^{If you are unable to maintain your membership or ministry commitment we expect our church members to inform the Pastor/Co-Pastor.}

MINISTRY ASSIGNMENTS

Colossians 3:23 "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men."

1 John 4:7 "Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God: and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God."

Galatians 6:10 "As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith."

What are Ministry Coordinators?

Ministry Coordinators report directly to Pastor and Co-Pastor Carpenter. They are responsible for coordinating their assigned ministry, keeping Pastor and Co-Pastor informed of progress and problem areas (with suggested solutions) as well as ensuring approval prior to implementation of ministry agenda. Each Ministry Coordinator is responsible for maintaining a cooperative not a competitive relationship with all other ministries. All Ministry Coordinators must be in Sunday School and Bible Study unless other arrangements have been made due to work or school schedule.

Ministry Assistants report directly to the Ministry Coordinators. They are responsible for assisting in the ministry and are encouraged to offer suggestions and ideas to enhance the ministry. All Ministry Assistants should strive to be in Sunday School and Bible Study. Must be in at least one.

Each person in each ministry is expected to conduct themselves in a Christian manner and to handle all matters biblically and respectfully. Everything must be done in decency and order so that God will get the glory and people will be ministered to. We do not own these ministries, they are as unto the Lord. Each ministry will be evaluated to determine its effectiveness and timeliness.

"Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others." Phil 2: 3, 4

5. Prayer Life - Matthew 6:1-15
6. Humble/Peacemaker/Forgiving Spirit - James 4:10;1 Peter 5:6;Matthew 18:15-17
7. Support Church's Vision/Mission - Habbakuk 2:2-3
8. Support Pastor/Co-Pastor - Jeremiah 3:15; Ephesians 4:11
9. Servant's Heart/Esteem Others - Luke 9:48; Philippians 2:3; Ephesians 4:15
10. Reliable, Dependable, Accountable - Acts 6:1-7
11. Financial Commitment (Tithes & Offerings) - Proverbs 3:9; Malachi 3:7-12; Luke 6:38; 2 Corinthians 9:6-9; Proverbs 11:24,25; Haggai 1

Questions to Ask Yourself

1. What has God called you to do?
2. How often do you pray to God about what he wants you to do?
3. What is God saying about how you handle your ministry; your attitudes towards Him and others?
4. How often do you pray with and for the people in your ministry?
5. When was the last time you thanked God for what He has called you to do?
6. What areas do you need to work on?
7. Are you available to do what God has called you to do?
8. Are you pleased with what you have done since January 2007?
9. Do you have a ministry strategy?
10. If you are pleased with what you have done; how do you think God feels?
11. Is ministry a burden to you?
12. How long do you plan to be an inactive leader?
13. When was the last time you checked your humility? God can’t use us if we are not humble people?
14. Do you like being over people or thank God for the privilege?
15. Are you a peacemaker or instigator?
16. What is your vision for your life? What are your aspirations?
17. How do you feel about other ministries that seem to be doing better than yours?
18. Are you a blessing to anyone?
19. Do you care how your ministry looks to God?
20. Are you willing to partner with your Pastor and Co-Pastor?
21. Why do you think God called you and saved you?

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF OUR MINISTRY COORDINATORS/LEADERS AND MINISTERS

I. COMMITMENT

1. We expect our leaders to be good church members (see "What Is Expected of Our Church Members").

2. We expect our leaders to be faithful to the responsibility they have accepted.

3. They are to be present in church worship Sunday mornings and afternoons.

4. They are to be present in the Bible Study and Prayer Meeting.

5. They are to be models of giving tithes and offerings.

6. They are to be soul winners (if not on an evangelical team, witnessing on their own).

7. To be loyal to the Pastor/Co-Pastor and their God-given vision and wisdom.

8. To give our best efforts to our church ministry.

II. ADMINISTRATION

1. To be organized as a person, and organize your ministry.

2. To have goals and objectives for your ministry.

3. To have on paper the responsibilities and duties of those serving with you.

4. To train someone to take your place as the leader, if that becomes necessary.

5. To see that records are kept current monthly.

6. To have a written agenda for your meetings.

7. To have a competent secretary to take minutes and keep records.

8. To plan ahead (at least 3 months or more).

III. SPIRITUAL GROWTH

1. The fruit of the Spirit should clearly be seen in the life of a leader (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control).

2. We are not to give an offense by the way we live, that will hurt the ministry.

3. We are to be examples of a spiritually mature Christian.

4. We are not to be self-willed (2 Cor. 1:9; Rom. 7:18).

5. We must not have an independent attitude (Acts 4:32, Rom. 14:19; 1 Cor. 1:10; Phil. 1:27, 3:16; 1 Peter 3:8).

6. We are to be self-disciplined (1 Cor. 9:24-27).

7. We must love people.

8. We must continue to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

IV. RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER CHURCH MINISTRIES

1. Your ministry is not an island unto itself, but part of the greater church ministry under the God-given authority of the Pastor/Co-Pastor.

2. You are to cooperate with other ministries.

3. You are to remember that God only gave 365 days a year, and we must share the church calendar and facilities.

4. Your ministry is not in competition with any other ministry in the church, but we are all part of a team (cooperation).

V. LEADERSHIP GROWTH

1. You should seek to grow and improve as a leader.

2. You should read Christian leadership books.

3. Read books related to learning how to perform your ministry better.

4. Attend seminars, conferences and workshops relating to your ministry.

ALL LEADERS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND CHURCH MEETINGS

If you are unable to maintain your leadership commitment we expect our servant/leaders to inform the Pastor/Co-Pastor.

ORDER OF SERVICE

The order of Service is always under the supervision of the Holy Spirit and thus, subject to change at any time.

· Call to Worship - Reading of Church Motto to help place the entire body on one accord. "And, I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me". John 12:32. Followed by reading of our Scriptural Focus, Mission Statement and Vision Statement.

PRAISE & WORSHIP - Praise Ministry

· Song/Prayer of Invocation - Corporate request to invoke the Holy Spirit’s anointing and oversight. Followed immediately by corporate singing of "Hear Our Prayer…". followed by Responsive Reading selected from Hymnal.

· Hymn of Praise - To exalt God in accordance with Psalm 100

· Welcome - To welcome and acknowledge visitors to the service.

· Little Children's Time of Praise - "Out of the mouth of babes" 

·Announcements/Information- Scheduling, ministry acknowledgements and updates, recognitions.

·Pastoral Greetings and Remarks - Personal updates, messages, and fellowship from the pulpit

·Ministry of Giving/Prayer - Corporate prayer of thanksgiving and/or instruction on tithes and offering.

· Offertory - Corporate singing of 1Chronicles 29:14

·Altar Prayer - Corporate prayer for the body where members may come to the altar and join hands. May be followed by individual special prayer/anointing.

· Scripture Reading - Normally the scripture from which the Message is derived.

·Intercessory Prayer for the Preacher - A prayer requesting specific anointing for the preacher.

· Invitation to Discipleship - Hand of fellowship extended in invitation to the unsaved to come forward and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Also at this time we receive persons rededicating or recommitting their lives to Christ. The membership pray silently at this time.

·Benediction - The invocation of blessing and an expression of good wishes and thanksgiving. Normally the conclusion of the formal service.
