May 31, 1998
On Pentecost Sunday, May 31,1998, God allowed Pastor and Co-Pastor Carpenter to birth the Philadelphia Prayer, Praise & Worship Center Church in the basement of their home. The first message was “What The Church Can’t Forget” Matthew 28:16-20.   Each Sunday thereafter God continued to bless the ministry both spiritually and physically.
The first members were: Pastor Douglas M. Carpenter, Sr., Minister Felisa E. Carpenter, Minister Kevin Padgett, Mother Lenora Mundey, Mother Pearl Arnold, Bro. Dennis Carpenter, Sis. Norma J. Carpenter, Bro. Frank Caul, Sis. Cynthia Caul, Sis. Antonia Graves, Sis. Kathy LeCoin, Sis. Tracy Padgett, Sis. Pamela Reid, Bro. Kevin Reid, Sis. Ruth Throckmorton, Sis. Betty Vincent, Sis. Janice Voorhees. In absentia: Bro. Wilbur Padgett, Sis. Velma Padgett, Sis Judith Abel Henry.

July, 1998

Before long the church outgrew Pastor/Co-Pastor’s basement and  house, but God opened another door in July 1998, The Kirkbride Center, where we held Bible Study and Sunday Services until June 2002.

The Church was incorporated in the State of Pennsylvania. The Church subsequently was accorded 501(C)(3) status as a charitable organization by the IRS and was granted exemption from sales tax by the State of Pennsylvania
December 10, 1998
The Thursday night Kirkbride Spiritual Enrichment classes started for the Kirkbride members and in March 2001 the Breakthrough Ministry at Kirkbride was started. We also started a Youth Outreach Ministry at Kirkbride.
September 8, 1999
Praise Bible Institute started certified classes on Wednesdays, Pastor Carpenter, Instructor.

October 10, 1999

PPP & WCC Tape Ministry started, and as of May 7, 2006 sermons were also available on CD.  In January 2007 the messages became available on the church’s website to listen, download, email or podcast.
July, 2001
The Thursday night Kirkbride Spiritual Enrichment classes started for the Kirkbride members and in March 2001 the Breakthrough Ministry at Kirkbride was started. We also started a Youth Outreach Ministry at Kirkbride.

We had our first Sunday morning service at our new church. Pastor Carpenter’s message was entitled “Wilt Thou Be Made Whole?” and Rev. Kevin Padgett held the first Sunday morning service at PPP&WCC Kirkbride Outreach Ministry.  His message was entitled “Can You Hear Me Now?”

The first baptism at our new church was on October 27, 2002.  Twenty-two members were baptized.

February 10, 2004

CorrectBible.com was launched as a comprehensive Christian website containing PPP&WCC's Adult Bible Study lessons, Bible subjects, Christian devotionals, sermons and poems.

PhilaPrayer.org was added as the Church's information center and resource for other churches and ministries worldwide.
January 28, 2006
Under the mentorship of Co-Pastor Carpenter, the Young Adult Ministry was started.
April 28, 2006
PPP&WCC partnered with the “Chosen 300 Ministries” to feed the homeless in the City of Philadelphia while bringing them the Good News of Jesus.

We started our Pre-Bible Study Course on Wednesday nights. Co-Pastor Carpenter, Instructor.

In 2006 we awarded our first scholarships to our students who were graduating, and were continuing their education in an accredited college or trade school.

March, 2007

On Friday, March 30, 2007 God allowed Pastor Carpenter to resign from S.E.P.T.A. after 26 ½ years to focus more on full-time Pastoral/Ministry. To God Be The Glory!

In June 2007, we started our Prayer for Peace on the Streets and Harvest of Souls for Christ Ministry, Min. Mitchell Chance, Coordinator.
September, 2007
The church’s bookstore, “The Learning Corner” was opened.
October 7, 2007
Bro. Mitchell Chance delivered his Initial Sermon on Sunday morning.
December 16, 2007
On Sunday, Ministers Terrance & Robin Woods were ordained.

January, 2008

 New ministries were started:
     Another Option Jericho Ministry (a transition ministry bridging Kirkbride Ministry to fellowship in church)
     Community Outreach Ministry
     Mental Health Consumer Christian Support Ministry
     One Flesh Christian Marriage & Couples Enrichment Ministry
     Seasoned Saints Ministry

The Young Adult Ministry launched a daily Prayer Line.
May 18, 2013
Pastor Douglas M. Carpenter, Sr. received his Masters of Theological Studies from Palmer Theological Seminary.

May 17, 2014

Co-Pastor Felisa E. Carpenter received her Master’s Degree in Ministry of Pastoral Studies from Lancaster Bible College.

The Thursday Night Families Forward Shelter Ministry at Kirkbride was started.

March 22, 2015

Four members preached their Initial Sermons and were licensed as ministers, Sis. Adeyemi Adeyemo, Sis. Truemanna Carpenter, Sis. Shonna McBreen, Deacon Anthony Woodland.

 May 20, 2017

Pastor Douglas M. Carpenter, Sr. graduated from Lancaster Theological Seminary with a Doctorate of Ministry degree.
